I don’t know about you, but I have, at times, been guilty of forgetting to celebrate things. I will often move right on to the next thing and I’m not sure if I don’t think I deserve to enjoy a moment or have a party (ouch!), but lucky for me, I’ve learned from friends, family & other cultures that it’s WAY OKAY to celebrate and that ANY excuse is a good one! 🙂 Oh good!
Given the cold weather (for some of us, even more of a reason), this February, I invite you to find a reason to celebrate (whatever you want: Valentine’s day, your birthday, the fact that you have heat during this cold winter or whatever you could possibly be exuberant about!). And, if you want, share the reason below in the comments (I’d love to know both what and how you plan to celebrate).
I’m thinking maybe we can spread some warmth around hearing about what other folks are relishing and choosing to bring to the forefront of their awareness!
I also invite you to join me anytime between Feb 13th-22nd in New York, New Jersey, Boston, Maine, Seattle, or via Livestream (see below) in the comfort of your own home where we can celebrate whatever you want… old memories, that we survived this winter, fill in your reason here _______ with old and new songs!
Here’s a little video I made of some memorable moments from when Black Notebook and Give In came out, 10 and 12 years ago (was it that long ago?) because I thought it would be fun to celebrate their release anniversaries (why not?) on Feb 15th with a show at Club Passim playing all of those old tunes!
